SOCIAL AUXILLARY WORKER GRADE 1THERAPEUTICS (SOCIAL SERVICES)

Requirements: Matric or ABET equivalent. Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker. Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Profession (SACSSP) for 2026. No experience required. Exposure working at CHBAH will be added advantage. Preference will be given to the current CHBAH Covid staff. Skills/Knowledge/Competence: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team and be computer literate. Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment and to relieve colleagues as the need arises. Drivers’ licence is compulsory as it is required in home visits, tracing and family reunification services. Duties: Provide support services under the supervision of a Social Worker. Perform basic assessments / screening of patients’ socio-economic circumstances and nature of their problems and provide information and refer to relevant/appropriate community resources. Provide basic counselling, support and encouragement to patients and families who do not need professional counselling.
